We are Kevin and Valerie.  We retired just before Thanksgiving in 2010.  Since then we have been traveling and house sitting.  Check out our travel blog  to see where we’ve been and places we have visited.  Let us introduce ourselves and give you a bit of our background.

Kevin was born in Murray, Kentucky.  He was raised on a farm there along with his older brother and two sisters.  His father was a public health professional who worked almost 40 years for the state of Kentucky and his mother was a home maker.  Kevin attended and graduated from Murray State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.  After working for a few years in Virginia, he moved to Southern California.  He worked for Bekins Van Lines in Glendale and owned a retail computer business.  Prior to retiring he was an independent consultant for American Honda Motor Company in Torrance, CA, in their Consumer Web Applications group.

Valerie was born in Torrance, California.  She grew up there along with her 3 sisters.  Her father was a entrepreneur and businessman who had many different businesses including a stereo store and restaurants and her mother was a home maker.  Her mother still lives in the family home in Torrance.  After graduating from high school, Valerie married and subsequently had 3 children, 2 boys and 1 girl, who are now all independent hard-working adults.  After raising her young children, Valerie was a Regional Specialist with Merle Norman Cosmetics and retired after 15 years.
